Zhangjiajie is in Hunan Province.
Zhangjiajie is located between 28° 52′-29° 48′ north latitude and 109° 40′-111° 20′ east longitude. It is a city under development in the northwest of Hunan Province with the purpose of developing Zhangjiajie tourism. A unique provincial new city, adjacent to Hubei Province in the north.
Zhangjiajie Scenic Area is located in the south of Wulingyuan Scenic Area. The park management office is located in Luogu Lane, 32 kilometers away from Zhangjiajie City and about 28 kilometers away from Wulingyuan District People's Government, both of which are accessible by highway.

As of the end of 2018, Hunan Province *** has 14 prefecture-level administrative districts, including 13 prefecture-level cities and 1 autonomous prefecture, namely Changsha, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan, Hengyang, Shaoyang, Yueyang, Changde, Zhangjiajie, Yiyang, Chenzhou, Yongzhou, Huaihua, Loudi and Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.
