Where is the origin of the orange?
China's orange is distributed in the north latitude 16 ~ 37 ° between the altitude of up to 2,600 meters (Sichuan Batang), from the south of Hainan Province, Sanya City, north to Shaanxi, Gansu, Henan, east of Taiwan Province, west of the Yarlung Zangbo River Valley in Tibet.
But the economic cultivation area of citrus in China is mainly concentrated between 20 and 33° north latitude, at an altitude of 700 to 1000 meters below.
There are 19 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) producing mandarin oranges nationwide, including Taiwan Province, of which the main producers of mandarin oranges are 10 provinces (municipalities and districts), such as Zhejiang, Fujian, Hunan, Sichuan, Guangxi, Hubei, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Chongqing and Taiwan, followed by Shanghai, Guizhou, Yunnan, Jiangsu and other provinces (municipalities), and also planted in Shaanxi, Henan, Hainan, Anhui and Gansu provinces. There are 985 counties (cities and districts) growing mandarin oranges.
World Distribution of Oranges
The world's oranges are mainly distributed in the region south of 35° north latitude, sex like warm and humid, with a large body of water warming the territory can be pushed northward to 45° north latitude.
There are 135 countries in the world to produce oranges, with an annual output of 102.822 million tons and an area of 107.3 million mu, all of which are at the top of the list of fruits, and the number of production places in Brazil, 24.252626 million tons, the second number of U.S., 16.3352 million tons, and the third, 10.78 million tons, and then Mexico, Spain, Iran, India, Italy and other countries.
Oranges origin environment
1, temperature: orange fruit growth and development requirements of 12.5 ~ 37 ℃ temperature, the fall bud differentiation requirements of day and night temperature of about 20 ℃ and 10 ℃, respectively, the root growth of the soil temperature is roughly the same as the ground.
High temperatures are also detrimental to the growth and development of citrus, air and soil temperatures higher than 37 ℃ when the fruit and root system stop growing.
2, light: oranges are shade-tolerant species, but still need good sunshine for high quality and abundant production.
General annual sunshine hours of 1200 to 2200 hours of the region can grow normally.
Such as good sunshine, heat-rich South China and less sunshine compared to Chongqing citrus producing areas, the fruit sugar content is high, acid content is low, sugar-acid ratio is high.
3, humidity: oranges in the annual rainfall of about 1,000 millimeters of tropical and subtropical regions are suitable for planting, the relative moisture content of the soil to 60 to 80% is appropriate, less than 60% is required to irrigation, too much rain caused by soil water or high water table, in poor drainage citrus orchards will make the root system die.
4, soil: orange on the soil to adapt to a wide range of purple soil, red and yellow loam, beach and sea, ph value of 4.5 ~ 8 can grow, to ph value of 5.5 ~ 6.5 is suitable.
Root growth requires high oxygen content, to the soil texture loose, good structure, organic matter content of 2 to 3%, well-drained soil suitable.
