According to observation, Monopterus albus can be divided into dark yellow or light yellow with black spots, and blue gray or light gray with black spots. In the past, the two kinds of Monopterus albus were excellent varieties with strong vitality and fast growth. Monopterus albus with yellow spine and neck can also be used as artificial breeding species.
2. Distribution Monopterus albus is naturally distributed in other areas except Heilongjiang in the north, Qinghai, Tibet, Xinjiang in the west and South China Sea Islands in the south, especially in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, where the distribution density is high and the yield is high. In recent years, China has vigorously developed aquaculture and introduced artificial farming. In addition to parts of Tibet and Qinghai, many areas such as Xinjiang and Hainan have also introduced eel farming. Therefore, at present, Monopterus albus has been widely distributed in fresh water areas all over China.
Abroad, Monopterus albus is mainly distributed in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and other places, and also distributed in India, Japan and North Korea.
