The technical requirements of refining process are very high, so the cost of refining salt is higher than that of sea salt. The sodium chloride content of primary salt is higher than or equal to 99.30%, and that of secondary salt is higher than or equal to 98.50%. Whether sea salt or refined salt, they are all salts, the main component is sodium chloride, and the nutrition is the same. The content of trace elements in sea salt is very low. Distribution of salt in China
China's salt producing areas are widely distributed, from the northeast to Hainan and Taiwan Province, from Xinjiang, Qinghai, Sichuan and Tibet to Inner Mongolia, producing a wide variety of salt: sea salt, well salt, rock salt, pool salt and so on. Among them, the saltworks in Liaoning, Shandong, Huaibei and Changlu are rich in sea salt and have been famous since ancient times.
Well salt is the most famous artesian well in Zigong City, Sichuan Province, which has a history of more than 1000 years. Rock salt is produced in Sichuan, Yunnan, Hubei, Hunan, Xinjiang, Qinghai and other places. There are many saltwater lakes in Shaanxi, Shanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang and other places, which are rich in pond salt, the largest of which is Chaerhan Salt Pond in Qaidam Basin.
According to statistics, the salt extracted from this salt pond alone is enough for China's 1.2 billion people to eat for more than 4,000 years. Others, such as Chaka Salt Pond in Qinghai, Jilantai Salt Pond in Gansu and Jiechi in Shanxi, are all famous salt producing areas.
