Lungwort is cultivated in China in the coastal areas of China as well as in the provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, western Henan, Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Gansu. It is also found in Japan, Korea and Siberia in the Soviet Union.
