Morphological features
Up to 5m high, thin, grayish-white bark, crown spherical or oblate. Single leaves alternate, elliptic lanceolate or oblong, 6-17cm long, apex pointed or obtuse, base rounded or broadly cuneate; flowers yellowish-green, 1-4 clustered at the top of the branch or opposite to the leaves, flowering period May-June; polymerized berries fleshy and subglobose, about 5-10cm in diameter, yellowish-green when ripe in August-October, with a sweet and aromatic taste.
Growth habit
Light-loving, like warm and humid climate, requiring an average annual temperature of 22 degrees above, not hardy; suitable for deep fertile well-drained sandy loam soil.
