Wang Zhongping (1896-1963), a Yao nationality, was born in Yangxi Village, Chaochuan Township, Gongcheng County, Guangxi (now Xiling Township). During the Great Revolution, he served as a staff member of the Political Department of the Seventh Army, and succeeded him as director of the Political Training Department of the Forty-fifth Division of the Fifteenth Army, director of the Guangxi Post Station (Luchuan), and county magistrate of Tianhe County. After the September 18th Incident in the 20th year of the Republic of China, he resigned as Tianhe County Magistrate for only half a year and went to Guangzhou to pursue revolution. After the "January 28" Incident occurred the following year, he put up posters on Henan Street in Haizhu Qiaotou, Guangzhou, recruiting aspiring soldiers and patriotic young people, organized a suicide regiment, and went to Shanghai to support the 19th Route Army in the war of resistance. More than 300 people signed up within a few days. Due to the lack of support from Chen Jitang and Chen Mingshu, and lack of guns and food, only more than 150 patriotic young people persisted in going north.
