Begonia fruit is distributed in China, India, Sri Lanka, the Central South Peninsula, Malaysia, Indonesia (Sumatra), the Andaman Islands, the Philippine Islands, Polynesia, as well as Madagascar and Australia, etc.; it is distributed in China in Hainan and Taiwan, and a few introductions have been made to the south of China's Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan. It is wild or cultivated in hilly open spaces and sandy wastelands along the seashore at altitudes of 60-100(-200) meters above sea level.
Begonia fruit seed oil content of 20-30%, seed kernel oil content of 50-60%, the oil can be used for industrial purposes, the processing of de-poisoning and refining can be used for food; timber texture is solid, heavy, suitable for shipbuilding, bridges, sleepers, agricultural tools and furniture and other timber; bark containing 15% tannin, can be extracted tannin.
