Yam and the following foods cannot be used at the same time:
Yam and kansui cannot be eaten at the same time. ?Yam nourishes the kidneys, strengthens the spleen and moistens the lungs, while kansui can stimulate the intestines, increase intestinal peristalsis, and produce diarrhea. The two effects are completely opposite and cannot be taken together.
Yam and pork liver cannot be eaten together. Yams are rich in vitamin C, and pig liver contains trace elements of copper, iron, zinc and other metals. Vitamin C will accelerate oxidation and destruction when exposed to metal ions, reducing the nutritional value. Therefore, it is not advisable to eat yams after eating pig liver.
Yam cannot be eaten with carp. Eating yam and carp together can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting.
Yam and bamboo shoots cannot be eaten together. Winter squash contains vitamin C-degrading enzymes, and yams are rich in vitamin C. If winter squash and yams are eaten together, the vitamin C in the yam will be decomposed and destroyed, resulting in a reduction in the nutritional value of the yam.
