Yongding Tulou is located in Hongkeng Village, Hukeng Town, Yongding County, Longyan City, Fujian Province. As a world cultural heritage, a national 5a-level tourist attraction and an advanced unit of national civilized tourism, it is the oldest Hakka earth building in Fujian. There are many kinds of earth buildings in Yongding, which are divided into two systems: square buildings and circular buildings. Among many earth buildings, the most representative ones are Wufeng Building, Dafang Building and Round Building. It was built in 769 AD and has a history of 1200 years.
Yongding Earth Building is divided into five types: Phoenix Building, Square Building and Round Building. Yongding Tulou is a wonderful work of ancient architecture in China, which shows the wisdom of Hakkas. It has many functions such as earthquake prevention, fire prevention, defense, good ventilation and lighting, warm in winter and cool in summer. The structure of Yongding Tulou also embodies the tradition of unity and friendship handed down from generation to generation by Hakkas.
