You must first choose a good place to grow peas. Because the root system of this plant is very developed, it is drought-tolerant but not waterlogging-tolerant, so it must be planted in a dry environment. Deep and well-drained soil can also prevent the roots from being flooded, which is very helpful for their breathing. In addition, whether the soil is fertile or not also plays a vital role in the development of plants.
Second, the sowing time
The sowing time of peas in different areas is different. Most of the areas north of the Yangtze River are sown in spring, usually in March-April, and the harvest can be achieved in July-August. The area south of the Yangtze River is sown in autumn, and the sowing should be carried out in10-1month and harvested in April-May of the following year.
Third, soaking seeds to accelerate germination
Peas need to be germinated before sowing. First, soak the seeds in 40% salt water, remove the withered or insect-damaged seeds, then wash the remaining seeds with clear water and wrap them with gauze, and spray water every day to moisten them. When the seeds are white, you can open the gauze and put it in an environment of 2℃, and it can germinate in about 15 days.
Fourthly, sowing seeds.
Generally, peas should be sown by the on-demand method, and 2-6 seeds should be planted in a hole with a spacing of 10-20 cm. After sowing, soil with a thickness of 5-6 cm should be covered, which can be thicker if the climate is dry. When the seedlings grow to 8- 10 cm high and there are 2-4 leaves, they can be transplanted.
