Dianthus macrobracteata is a perennial herbaceous flower with weak perennial roots, which is cultivated in biennial plants.
Potted carnation needs sufficient base fertilizer, and 2-3 plants are planted in each pot. When the seedling grows to 15cm, remove the terminal bud to promote its branching, and then pay attention to properly remove the axillary bud, otherwise there will be many branches, scattered nutrition and small flowers, and properly remove the axillary bud to concentrate nutrition and promote the flowers to be large and colorful.
During the growing period, it should be maintained in a sunny and well-ventilated place, and the basin soil should be kept moist, and the decomposed thin liquid fertilizer should be applied once every 10 days. There is too much rain in summer, so pay attention to drainage and loosening the soil.
Dianthus caryophyllus is easy to cross, and those who keep it need to plant it in isolation. Before flowering, some axillary buds should be removed in time, mainly to ensure that the terminal buds bloom. There is less water in winter. If the temperature is kept at 5-8℃, flowers will continue to bloom in winter and spring.
