Why does baked bread have more calories than steamed bread? (provided, of course, that the toast is made without any ingredients.)
Pretty girl, here's the thing. When the toast is baked, the water in the dough evaporates, so the water content is low. The steamed bread is steamed, and the moisture in the dough has not decreased, but has increased. Therefore, the same volume of toast is lighter than steamed bread. As a result, under the same weight, toast has higher calories than steamed bread.
