Most of the porridge we usually drink is only rice porridge and millet porridge. However, whether it is rice porridge or millet porridge, there is still sugar in it. For diabetics, drinking rice porridge or millet porridge will increase their blood sugar.
Generally, diabetics mainly eat foods with less glucose content, because these foods will not be absorbed by the blood after entering their bodies. This can effectively control their blood sugar content.
According to some statistics, the sugar content of rice porridge is about 0.77, while that of millet porridge is 0.76. From the point of view of scientific statistics, drinking rice porridge and millet porridge is the same for diabetics. At the same time, the sugar absorbed by the human body accounts for about 87% of its sugar, while the sugar absorbed by the human body accounts for 6 1.5% of its internal sugar. Therefore, from a deeper perspective, it is better for diabetics to drink millet porridge, because the sugar in millet porridge is the least absorbed.
If we only look at millet from the nutritional components, the protein content contained in porridge is relatively high, and its dietary fiber is much higher than that of rice, and rice contains almost no other influencing components except starch, and the sugar in it is easier for people to absorb after rice is cooked, so millet porridge is more suitable for diabetics than rice porridge.
But it doesn't mean that drinking millet porridge won't increase your blood sugar. For diabetics, the best thing to take is miscellaneous cereal porridge. Don't just eat millet or rice. It's best to eat it with other foods.
