California bass, formerly known as largemouth bass, belongs to the order Perciformes, Sunfishes, and is a rare carnivorous fish with delicious meat, strong disease resistance, rapid growth, easy catching and wide temperature range. Taiwan Province Province, China was introduced in the 1970s, and it has been propagated for several generations. Guangdong, Shenzhen, Huiyang, Foshan and other places also introduced California bass fry in 1983, and artificial propagation succeeded in succession in 1985. The propagated fry have been introduced to Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Shandong and other places, and all of them have achieved good economic benefits.
Feeding management of California bass feed;
1. Fixed-time and high-throwing bait: California perch is usually fed with fixed-time and high-throwing bait. Generally, it is fed twice a day, at 8-9 am and 5-6 pm, at a fixed point. At a relatively fixed feeding place, before feeding, you can knock on the basin to make a sound. When the fish swim to the feeding place, throwing the bait high will make the bait feel dynamic when it falls into the pool, attracting people to grab food. The range of high throwing bait should be larger, so that all fish can eat it and ensure the uniform growth of fish. The feeding time should be controlled at 30-60 minutes. Feed follows the rhythm of "slow-fast-slow" in the feeding process, and an oval fence of 7- 10 square meter is set around the bait table to prevent waste of feed, pollute water quality and improve feed coefficient.
2. Full feeding: Because the larger individuals of California bass have the priority to feed, the smaller individuals can only feed at the periphery of the feeding ground or lag behind, which will easily lead to problems such as large individual differences, serious cannibalism, and decreased aquaculture yield, so full feeding is usually adopted. The feeding amount and feeding times are flexibly adjusted according to the main weather changes, water temperature and fish feeding, and generally, feeding is stopped when the feeding intensity of fry weakens. California perch has a strong appetite. Generally, the intake of adult fish can reach 20% of the total weight, and that of young fish can reach 50%. At the peak period, the body weight increases at a rate of 50% every month. Therefore, it is required to feed the bait several times to ensure the supply of bait in sufficient quantity, and at the same time, to ensure that smaller individuals can eat enough.
3. Feed feeding in high-temperature season: In high-temperature period, due to the high surface temperature and strong light of the cultured water body, it is easy to cause the phenomenon that California bass eats less, eats slowly, can't splash, and reduces the feeding amount. The water temperature in the pond can be reduced by deepening the water level, changing the water, covering the shading net above the dining table, transplanting shading plants such as water hyacinth or water spinach. At the same time, the aerator near the feeding platform can be turned on for 30-60 minutes before the feed is fed, which can speed up the up-and-down exchange of pond water, reduce the surface temperature of water, improve the dissolved oxygen in the pond and promote the feeding of fish.
