Deciduous shrubs or small trees with alternate leaves and oval or elliptical leaves Oblong; flowers solitary or in clusters, often open before the leaves; sepals 5, colored; many stamens; petals obovate, light red; stamens about 5 mm long; style about 6 mm long, pubescent. The pear fruit is oblong in shape, 10-15 cm long, green, dark yellow when mature, glossy, woody flesh, slightly sour, astringent, aromatic, with short stems. The flowering period is April and the fruiting period is September-October.
