Patients with hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, calcium-containing kidney calculi, or a history of kidney calculi are forbidden to use Guyuan.

Guyuan is usually taken orally. Each package is dissolved in about 10ml warm water or cold water, completely dissolved and taken after clarification.
