It is the product of the same plant. There are often kidney-shaped or oval-shaped beads in the axils of yam plants, named "Reiyoshi", commonly known as "yam bean". Their functions are roughly the same as those of yam: tonifying lung and qi, invigorating spleen and deficiency, strengthening kidney and essence, nourishing heart and tranquilizing mind, strengthening ambition and increasing wisdom, nourishing blood, calming cough and asthma, and prolonging life.
