According to Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, Feb. 11: In response to media reports about OMP substances in Mengniu's Terensu milk, the person in charge of the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said on Feb. 11 that the AQSIQ is working with the relevant departments to study the safety of OMP substances in Mengniu's Terensu milk.
The person in charge said: the results of the study will be announced in an appropriate manner. He also said that the country is currently carrying out a comprehensive cleanup and rectification of the use of food additives.
According to the materials provided by Mengniu, the OMP substance is made from cow's milk; the milk alkaline protein mixture made by degreasing, membrane filtration and other processes, the main components of lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase and so on.
