The origin of the name of dog-head jujube
In the Tang Dynasty, after Emperor Gaozong moved to Chang'an, he often traveled among the people. Once when he was drinking in a tavern, he met the daughter of the shopkeeper. This woman was very beautiful. It was precisely because of this woman that Tang Gaozong stayed in Qingcheng for a long time. Later, when Emperor Taizong died, Gaozong promised the woman that he would pick her up in a few days, so he hurried back to the palace.
But this time it was many years later. When Tang Gaozong thought of her later, she and Gaozong's princess had grown up, but by then the woman had already become disillusioned with Gaozong and was unwilling to follow Gaozong back to the palace. , Gaozong had no choice but to take the princess back, but after returning to the palace, the princess did not want to eat or drink, and was very haggard. Gaozong tried many methods to no avail. The princess said she wanted to eat red fruits from her hometown, and Gaozong quickly sent someone to get them. The princess who got the red fruit was indeed fine, so Emperor Gaozong felt curious and took one to taste. He found that the red fruit was not only sweet and delicious, but also looked very similar to a dog's head, so he named the red fruit "dog-headed jujube".
