Behind the Xie's Shen Gong Temple in Mao Ping Village, about 0/6 km southeast of Ninggang County, Jiangxi Province, there is a two-room building with an octagonal skylight, which is called the octagonal building by the local people. Mao Zedong's big inkstone, bamboo tube iron blue oil lamp and other items are displayed in the building.
In the Agrarian Revolutionary War Museum, there is a light and simple small oil lamp on display. This blackened oil lamp, which lights up by burning beans from the wick, is one of many oil lamps used by the Red Army in Jinggangshan.
Text of Bajiaolou:
During the hard struggle in Jinggangshan, Chairman Mao lived in the Bajiaolou of Mao Ping Village. Whenever night falls, the lights on the octagonal building come on.
It was late at night in the cold winter, and Chairman Mao was wearing a single military uniform and a thin blanket, sitting on a bamboo chair and writing an article. He held the pen in his right hand and gently dialed the wick in his left hand, making the light brighter.
Staring at the single spark, Chairman Mao was so lost in thought that he didn't even notice the blanket slipping down. Under this clear oil lamp, Chairman Mao wrote many brilliant works, pointing out the road to the victory of the China revolution.
Theme of the text: The text was written by Chairman Mao on the Octagonal Building of Mao Ping Village in Jinggangshan, forgetting the hardships and cold conditions. He wrote many brilliant works assiduously and intently, illuminating the road of the China revolution and praising the dedication quality of the predecessors.
