Before the receiver sends the ACK bit, the sender must release the bus. The receiver sends an ACK bit by pulling the SDA line low in the low phase of the ACK/NACK clock cycle (the 9th clock cycle), so that the SDA line will remain low in the high phase of the ACK/NACK clock cycle. Attention must be paid to setting and holding time.
