French thyme, perennial subshrub. Stem lignified, much branched, creeping or growing upward diagonally. The plant is about 40 cm tall, with flowering branches 2-8 cm, with deciduous prophylls at the base; branches arise from the end or base of the stem, and the leaves are small oval, moderately green, and numerous. Flowers densely arranged in capitate rows; calyx narrowly campanulate, with yellow glandular dots; flowers small, lavender or pink. Nutlets suborbicular, smooth. Seed thousand grains weight 0.17g, germination power can keep 3 years.
