What are some things you can’t miss?
Spent a month in Nepal volunteering.
Lost a few kilograms.
Visited Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara.
Generally speaking, the Nepali people are very friendly, but their living conditions are much worse than those of the Chinese people, so it is normal to trick tourists.
1. In terms of life, drinking water conditions are not good. In big cities such as Pokhara and Kathmandu, it is okay. At least there are shops where you can buy water. However, in small villages such as Chitwan, it is difficult to buy clean water even if you have money.
When drinking drinks from glass bottles, do not touch the mouth of the bottle. They are poured in and sealed directly =.
=, and you must definitely drink more slice mango juice, it’s really delicious T^T.
Nepal’s power supply is tight, so except for the major capital and Pokhara, power outages occur frequently in other places, so bring a flashlight.
And it’s still not safe at night, so never go out alone.
When you get there, you can apply for a local phone card. The price is very cost-effective. You can make calls and send text messages directly to Chinese numbers, and the phone call only costs a few cents in RMB, which is much more cost-effective than international roaming.
And you can also use data traffic. Although the network is a bit slow, the price is very cheap compared to mobile.
2. Cultural aspects: respect the cultural traditions of the locals. The left hand and feet are unclean, children’s heads must not be touched, and cows are sacred (of course, some Western restaurants in Pokhara still have steaks to eat). If you go to a local’s home
When being a guest, women are not allowed to enter the kitchen, etc.
But in big cities such as Kathmandu and Pokhara, people are more open-minded, and women's status is relatively higher. 3. Food: All the restaurants on the street by the lake in Pokhara are very good!
!
The steak is huge and very cheap.
Tip is required.
In Kathmandu, I went to eat Nepalese food at the legendary local best Nepali restaurant. That was the only one that I thought was pretty good. Later, I nearly vomited after eating Nepali food at my home.
They don't use dishwashing liquid or anything like that. They wash spoons and plates with water. I really regretted not bringing my own tableware... You can try the snacks sold on the street. Don't worry about the fact that they sell you ice cream at twice the price of others.
It's excellent, and the fried rice is sour, which some people can't accept. I think it's pretty good, but it's sold in a newspaper, so it smells a bit like ink.
It is recommended to go to a local restaurant for breakfast. The coffee is super delicious, very sweet and has chocolate powder on top.
4. Accommodation: The price is generally quite cheap. If you are willing to spend money, it is better to stay a little bit, otherwise you will find out there is no hot water when you move in.
Most locals don't need hot water, so it would be nice to be able to take a shower.
You have to bargain hard when buying things.
In terms of travel, you must go to Pokhara!
Paragliding is really recommended, but it seems you can only pay in US dollars.
US dollars can be used directly as currency in Nepal.
RMB-Nigerian currency exchange still has to be done at Zhangmu Port, which is the highest.
If you are flying, just exchange it with a local and you can get a lower price.
And there are really many delicious foods in Pokhara.
Nepal has the second highest bungee jumping project in the world, and the most important thing is the beautiful environment. There is a stream below. You can book it in many places and hotels. The closest one is from Kadu.
There are also more people going to Chitwan, which is suitable for hiking and watching animals.
But after I stayed there for two weeks, I really felt that the climate was too hot and stuffy, and there was nothing interesting to see.
It's just a crocodile, hippopotamus or something, sitting on an elephant.
Two of my friends went to some kind of natural zoo in the legendary country, and they were both bitten badly by leeches. After walking for a long time, they could only see a hippopotamus.
They showed me photos, and they showed that their legs were bitten and were bloody. So if you go there, you must wear long clothes, long pants, sneakers, and bring wind oil essence.
It is recommended to take a bus ride on the roof.
It's exciting, but my butt will hurt for two days.
