There are a lot of snacks in Fujian, and non-locals know a little bit about them. Let me talk about the snacks and specialties of Zhao’an, my hometown in Zhangzhou.
1. The seafood stalls in Zhao’an are full. The streets are all delicious, including Tielugang Seafood Food Stall and Houlin Seafood Food Stall. The stir-fried assorted vegetables and fried rice in the store are the most distinctive of Zhao'an
2. The sweet soup and cabbage are the most popular in Zhao'an. Rice cakes and oyster cakes are the favorite late-night snacks of Zhao'an people. The sweet soup stalls on the street are often crowded at night. The steamed rice dumplings and oyster cakes at the Steamed Food Center near the sports center are the best, whether it is a midnight snack or lunch or dinner. Zhao'an people go there to eat delicious food every now and then.
3. Every family in Zhao'an has its own way of cooking Maozi porridge. If you are too lazy to cook it, go to Baoqin's or the Maozi porridge shop on Yangguang Road to have a bowl.
4. It is estimated that Maishu is only available in Zhao'an in the whole of China. This is only made at home. Generally, people eat it after the Chinese New Year until the beginning of summer. After this time, no one eats it. The special taste goes out. The Zhao'an people who are outside miss him the most.
5. There are stalls in front of Youdun Border Town Middle School, and there are stalls in the morning and afternoon on the edge of Xinhua Books on Wumi Kueh Street. You can also go to the steamed meals and Zhao'an specialty snack shop near the sports center.
