I have long heard that the scenery in Qinghai is beautiful, but when I arrived in Qinghai, I discovered that the food and scenery in Qinghai are actually comparable.
As soon as we arrived in Qinghai, the local uncle took us to a picnic base hidden in the protective forest. When we got off the bus, we were greeted with white Hada and three glasses of wine. These three glasses of wine are quite famous! My uncle told me that these three glasses of wine are called "dismounting wine". In ancient times, people did not have cars and could only ride horses to visit distant friends. Because the journey is very long, the guests will be very tired when they arrive, so the host will welcome the guests with these three glasses of "dismounting wine". These three glasses of wine cannot be ordinary wine, they must be authentic white wine or highland barley wine!
After drinking the "dismounting wine", we were taken to a large prepared table and sat down. The hospitable locals first served a plate of highland barley pancakes, then a plate of "dog pee", and then a large plate of cold skin, so that the appetizers were all served. I think the most interesting one is "The dog peed." The reason why it is called this strange name is because after making a skin similar to wheat paste, it is drizzled with a layer of ghee, and the ghee looks like a dog peeing.
After the appetizers, we opened our bellies. The locals immediately served the main course - a whole sheep feast: sheep intestines, sheep tripe, lamb chops, lamb legs...all the delicacies related to sheep are available. Take the lamb chops for example. The mutton chops here are crystal clear in color. From a distance, a fresh smell of grass penetrates into my nostrils, making me eager to try it. I grabbed a piece of lamb chop and stuffed it into my mouth. It was soft yet tough and extremely delicious. I ate it in one go with the extra sour and thick homemade yogurt.
The food in Qinghai really makes me linger.
On the way home, I kept begging my dad to take me to taste Qinghai’s delicious food next year!
