Creative background The meaning of life The continuation of history Looking for the reason to live in Guangzhou through sound Life comes from the hometown behind you Singing well about Guangzhou Evoking the feelings of Guangzhou Awakening your memories ⊙ Preface The long embankment with bright lights shines in the night sky of Guangzhou.
Guangzhou, this familiar city, contains so much speechlessness and loneliness? In recent years, compared with the simplicity of Beijing and the prosperity of Shanghai, Guangzhou seems shabby and embarrassed.
Many people in the north even call our city a "cultural desert".
I wanted to use thousands of words to refute, but I couldn't come up with a single word after searching for a long time.
Look at our city. You can’t speak Cantonese in taxis, you can’t speak Cantonese in restaurants, and the friendly Cantonese hawkers on the streets have turned into Mandarin with a lost accent.
What used to be very characteristic of Guangzhou is gradually declining.
Everything makes me extremely lonely.
However, can the culture of a city with a history of more than two thousand years be so pale and helpless? The answer is no.
I was born and raised here.
As a Guangzhou native, this is something I am proud of.
Because this city has a unique cultural heritage.
This culture is unique in the world.
Is there a custom of drinking morning tea in other places? No.
Is there a custom of making soup in other places? No.
Are there Cantonese operas elsewhere? No.
Is there a Xiguan in other places? No.
Is there a causeway in other places? Still not! It’s not that we don’t have culture, but that our culture lacks packaging! I have traveled in various cities in Europe and like the romance of Paris, the enthusiasm of Madrid and the open-mindedness of Munich.
I found that Europeans really know how to cherish and preserve their own culture.
They have various ways to promote their culture, so Europe has become a paradise for art.
So I had an idea, I wanted to make something for Guangzhou's increasingly lost culture.
I want to use music to describe and package this city I love.
In the past six months, I have concentrated on collecting and creating works in Guangzhou.
Finally, I wrote ten Cantonese works.
Listening to these works, you will discover the romance of the Causeway, the majesty of the Memorial Hall, the poignancy of the Tomb of Hundreds of Flowers, and many, many things that have the characteristics of Yangcheng.

It was performed by a singer with the pseudonym "Master Dongshan"
After the new Cantonese pop song "Moonlight Shines on Yangcheng" was published online, it aroused enthusiastic comments from many Guangzhou netizens. It attracted more than 4,000 visits in just half a month, and even evoked the old people in Guangzhou.
The new generations have memories of Guangzhou’s traditional culture.
Songs such as "Changdi 1973" and "Hundred Flowers Tomb" that were later released on the Internet and radio also received enthusiastic responses and ranked among the top in click-through rates.
The producer of these songs, Huang Yi, a local Guangzhou musician who once served as the production director of a record company, became a promoter of Guangzhou's local culture. He carefully produced ten Cantonese songs about authentic Guangzhou culture and compiled them into a album called "Sing Good Guangzhou".
"Album, in addition to "Moonlight Shines on Guangzhou", in this album, the collision and fusion of "ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign" can be seen in the other nine songs of "Sing Good Guangzhou" in terms of theme, soundtrack, song interpretation, etc.

⊙About Singing Good Guangzhou Guangzhou is a city with a long history of more than 2,000 years. The language and humanities derived from it are unique in the world.
With the pragmatic personality of Guangzhou people and the impact of foreign culture, Guangzhou has gradually lost its unique culture and customs, and is ridiculed as a "cultural desert" by outsiders.
Compared with ancient cultural capitals such as Nanjing, Chengdu, and Xi'an, Guangzhou does have a bit more modern flavor, but at the same time, it also lacks a bit of cultural heritage.
I look at our city with depression. I cannot speak Cantonese in a taxi (translated from Cantonese). When paying the bill (our common saying) in a restaurant, I say in Mandarin: "Pay the bill!". The original friendly Cantonese hawking on the street has become
The Mandarin dialect has lost its accent, and the things that used to be characteristic of Guangzhou are gradually declining.
Is Guangzhou really a "desert of lost culture" among outsiders? Or is it just that Guangzhou's culture lacks discovery, packaging and promotion? I believe that Guangzhou does have a long history and cultural heritage, and Guangzhou's culture has also undergone new developments.
