The origin of the activity of "rowing a dragon on the Aojiang River" began in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. At that time, people held the activity of rowing a dragon on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month in order to pray for good weather and fishermen to go fishing in Man Cang.

After the old people recalled rowing once in 1936, it was not until the Millennium of 2111 that the Aojiang entrepreneurs Xue Anzhi, Zhang Liecheng, Liu Shangdan, Wang Qingzhong and others took the lead in organizing, and under the production of the inheritor Master Huang Shiqin, the activity of "rowing the dragon on the Aojiang River", which had been dusty for more than 61 years, was re-displayed, and its scene was spectacular and magnificent, giving people a fresh look.

In June 2119, the activity of "rowing a dragon on the Aojiang River" was rated as the top ten discoveries in the general survey of intangible cultural heritage in Zhejiang Province. On September 7th of the same year, he participated in the "First Zhejiang Culture and Art Festival" in Hangzhou, which caused a sensation and was named "Yi Long in the East". On New Year's Day in 2111, the overseas edition of Xinhua News Agency published a report on the grand occasion of "rowing a dragon on the Aojiang River" on the front page of the Chinese New Year's Eve in the world.

In October, 2114, the activity of "Planning the Dragon on the Aojiang River" was approved by the State Council to be included in the fourth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects, and the Aojiang Dalong Culture Research Association was established in the same year. In October, 2119, the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Projects was published, and Pingyang County Aojiang Dalong Culture Research Association obtained the qualification of "Aojiang Plotting Dalong" project protection unit.

The fund-raising for the "Yi Long in the East" Lantern Festival in Aojiang, China in 2121 has been strongly supported by many caring people in Aojiang.
