Of course I am not from Dujiangyan, nor am I from Sichuan, but I have such an inexplicable affection for this small town, which is hard to explain.

While I was still thinking about it, I suddenly thought of Su Dongpo’s words: This place of peace of mind is my hometown. This was originally said by Dongpo's good friend Wang Dingguo who was demoted to Lingnan Binzhou after being implicated in the Wutai Poetry Case. The singer Rounu who accompanied him went away. The question he wanted to answer was whether Lingnan should be good.

Dujiangyan, this ancient small city, is only more than an hour’s drive from the center of Chengdu. However, it is the source of the rise of Chengdu and even Sichuan as a whole. There is too much rain in Dujiangyan in February and October, and it seems there is never enough rain.

3. The name Dujiangyan is obviously so famous that without adding a suffix, even I would not know whether I am talking about this water conservancy project or this place.

In fact, with my picky and picky habits, I really don’t like this approach. I always feel that it is best to use these three words to call this project. If I add the four words of water conservancy project, it will be better. The ancient and heavy charm has been reduced a lot.

4. Most of the rivers throughout the ages are curved, and the water surface of the curved rivers is not horizontal.

The curved part of the river, as far as the river bank is concerned, the water flow is affected by centrifugal force, and one side is washed and sunken inward, which is the concave bank;

The other side is due to lack of water flow and sedimentation. And gradually protruding is the convex bank. The straight river channel became more and more curved because of this.

The water flow is also affected by this, and the water surface becomes concave with high banks and low with convex banks. Just like when riding a bicycle to turn, both the car and the person will tilt toward the inside of the curve. The faster the vehicle speeds, the more severe the tilt will be.

While the water flow in the bend flows downstream, the water flow on the surface is still rolling in the direction of both banks, from the convex bank to the concave bank, and underwater from the concave bank to the convex bank. Shore direction, forming a circular current.

As a result, the water flow on the concave bank becomes light and clear, while on the convex bank it becomes heavy and muddy, and sediment continues to accumulate on the convex bank.

In the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, the inner river that diverts water for irrigation at the fish mouth of the upper reaches happens to be on the concave bank. Naturally, it is easy to attract clear water flow. Moreover, the inner river is deep and narrow, and the outer river is wide and shallow, ensuring that the water flow is guaranteed. When there is less water, the inner river can draw enough water; when there is more water, too much water flows down from the wider outer river, and the amount of water diverted from the inner river will not be too much. This is the principle of dividing four and six, and being flat and dry.

Although there is less sediment, there is still sediment in the water drawn from the Neijiang River, and sometimes there is too much water, so there are Feisha Weir and Baopingkou.

That is, the water drawn from the Neijiang River is divided into two streams, and the excess water is discharged from the top of the weir again because the height of the water surface exceeds the Feisha Weir. Compared with Feisha Weir, Baopingkou is still at the end of the concave bank, so that sand can be discharged again. Baopingkou is narrower than the Neijiang River, and coupled with the collision of rocks, the sediment is either discharged from Feisha Weir or in front of the weir. The piles are dug out during the annual dredging. In order to determine the depth of the dredging, stones, horses, irons and other objects are specially buried at the bottom. If they are dug out, it means that the dredging has been done.

5. I seem to be a person who likes to find faults, but I am definitely not picking faults for the sake of finding faults, and there are some important things that still need to be clarified.

For example, regarding the water diversion and sand discharge in Dujiangyan, according to several ratios of 46 to 19, some people say that the introduced water is 60% in dry periods and 40% in wet periods. It is calculated that the amount of sand entering the mouth of the treasure bottle is 5%, and the amount of sand discharged is 95%.

However, it does not take into account that the amount of water and sand is constantly changing at every moment, so how can we have such accurate data. The so-called 46 is just the difference between 40% and 60%. It is just a rough approximation, not 40% and 60% of the numbers.

A person who is good at thinking and distinguishing right from wrong needs to learn the spirit and essence of the forefathers, rather than follow the rigid and rigid steps. If that is the case, no matter how well he learns addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, he will still be in the opposite direction, because The very first foundation is wrong.

6. Dujiangyan is indeed a great water conservancy project, like Zheng Guo Canal, Ling Canal, etc., but Li Bing is greater than Zheng Guo and others.

Because ancient projects such as Zhengguo Canal and Ling Canal are just history, while Dujiangyan is still playing a huge role.
