This statement is wrong. The first foreigners to study Sun Tzu's Art of War were the Japanese. During the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, in 734 AD, Ji Beizhenbei, the envoy to the Tang Dynasty, brought Sun Tzu's Art of War back to Japan for teaching. As for the study of Sun Tzu's Art of War in the UK, it was not until 1910 that the English version of Sun Tzu's Art of War, translated by British sinologist Giles, was published in London, and the English version of Sun Tzu's Art of War was only available in the world.
