Changes in Jiangmen

As a Jiangmen resident, I found an article about the changes in Jiangmen in the qzone. As a Jiangmen resident, I felt it necessary to understand these common sense, so I reprinted it and shared it with bloggers:

1. First of all, it proved that Jiangmen City was named "because it is located at the confluence of Xijiang River and its tributary-Pengjiang River, and Yandun Mountain in the south of the Yangtze River and Penglai Mountain in the north of the Yangtze River are facing each other like doors." Before Jiangmen was built, it was Xinhui County. As early as the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1388 BC), market fairs were formed here. At the beginning of the 17th century, Jiangmen Market flourished because of commerce and trade, and gradually became a trade center in the Pearl River Delta, where most of the goods in the middle and lower reaches of the Xijiang River were distributed. In 194, Jiangmen was turned into a foreign trade port, and the customs of Jiangmen North Street was set up, which was one of the eight customs in Guangdong. Western modern industry and culture were also introduced and developed. In 1925, Jiangmen was designated as a provincial city. In 1931, the municipal organizational system was abolished and returned to Xinhui County. Jiangmen was liberated on October 23, 1949. In January 1951, Jiangmen was changed to a provincial city. Later, it was successively under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Central Administrative Office, Zhaoqing District and Foshan District. In 1983, Jiangmen was designated as a prefecture-level city under the provincial jurisdiction, and a new system of city governing counties was implemented, which governed seven counties, namely Xinhui, Taishan, Kaiping, Enping, Heshan, Yangjiang and Yangchun. In 1988, Yangjiang and Yangchun were separated into Yangjiang City. From 1992 to 1994, five counties successively withdrew from counties to set up cities, which were managed by Jiangmen City. In September 22, Xinhui was removed from the city and divided into districts, and merged into Jiangmen City. Xinhui, Taishan, Kaiping, Enping and Heshan are known as "Wuyi" at home and abroad ... After Xinhui was merged into Xinhui District of Jiangmen City, there are still people who are used to calling it Xinhui City ...

2, West Avenue. It is said that it used to be a field, where Baisha is, it used to be a field and a fish pond. It began to be rebuilt into the current West Avenue and Hexi Road around 198.

There used to be many bungalows in Goose Creek, but now several buildings have been built. < P It is said that in the past, the teaching building of Jiangmen No.8 Middle School was only the building at Qianmen, and the playground in Houshan had not been built. It just looks like the gate of the zoo. The COSCO Building next to it used to be Chegong Temple-it is said that East Lake Square used to be a swimming pool.

In the past, most people in Xinmin lived in mud houses made of grass, just like those poor and backward areas in the northwest, so there were no blue brick houses with a history of hundreds of years, but only small red brick houses. Qimingli, Donghua Li, Jianghuali, Shuinan, and Jianghui Road have only 9 triangular ponds, which used to be called "Triangular Pond Park", but now there is no pond and children's park, and it has become like a square with a parking lot next to it.

At that time, it was quite troublesome to go to those places in Mayuan, and we had to pass through Baishuidai Park.

19. It is said that Zicha Road and Shengli Road are at the junction of traffic lights (next to Qiaodu Hotel). It used to be a T-shaped road, but it can't lead to Long Beach. Now it can. The road leading to Long Beach used to be part of the current Workers' Cultural Palace ~
