The origin of Mohe

When I was a child, I liked geography and was interested in place names. I found an article about the origin of place names in Heilongjiang Province and shared it with you. It seems that Heilongjiang used to be really full of people. Most of the place names came from Manchu, but they all felt beautiful.

Nenjiang: It was originally called "Morgen", which means "a man skilled in hunting" in Manchu, and then Nenjiang County was established in 1913. (There is also the word "tender" in Manchu. Its Manchu pronunciation is non ula.

Mohe: The name of Mohe comes from the name of the river, which originated in Xing 'anling and connected to Heilongjiang in the north. It is called Mohe because its water is black as ink, and later it is called Mohe.

Yichun: In 1967, Yichun was established as the land of Manchu and fur, which was not named after the river. The main river in Yichun is Tangwang River, and the section in Yichun city is called Yichun River. Tangwang River originates from the orange garden field of Wuyiling Forestry Bureau in Yichun City and flows into Songhua River.

Tongjiang: Linjiang County was established in 1913, and then it was changed to Tongjiang in 1914. In 1987, Tongjiang was established with the old name of "Laha Susu". Susu, a word in Manchu, is sorghum and Laha. Now look it up in Mudanjiang. In Manchu, "Peony Wula" means a curved river, while in Han people, it is homophonic as Mudanjiang. Tahe: formerly known as Huma County, and later located at the mouth of Tahe River, so it was renamed Tahe River.

Baoqing: The county was founded in 1916. Baoqing means "monkey" in Manchu, and there is "Baoqing River" in the south of the county.

Hulan: It is also named after the river. It is located by the Hulan River, which means "chimney" in Manchu.

Acheng: The city of Alechuka was built in Yongzheng, and the county was established in Guangxu thirty-four years. In the early 198s, a county-level city was set up. Acheng originated from the river name, and Acheng was located on the west side of Alechuka River. The abbreviation of "Ashe River" in Alechuka River means "gold" in Jurchen language, so the name of the Jin Dynasty may come from this.

Muling: County was established in 199, and Muling means "horse" in Manchu. It is also named after the river.

Helen: Helen's old name "Tongken" was named after the Tongken River. Tongken means "drum" in Manchu. Helen also means "otter" in Manchu.

Hailin: It is formed by the merger of Wulin County and Xinhai County, each of which is named Hailin County. Hailin county is on the bank of the waves, which means "elm" in Manchu.

Fuyu: named after the river, Fuyuer River passes through the county, and Fuyuer, also known as Wuyuer River, means "low-lying land" in Manchu.

Baiquan: Baiquan is named after the local famous Babai Mingshui Quanzi. The old name "Babai Brak" comes from Mongolian, where Babai means "baby" and Brak means "spring water".

Suifenhe: named after the river, Suifenhe means "awl" in Manchu

Mulan: Mulan County was founded in 194, named after the Mulan River in China, and Mulan means "bare mountain" in Mongolian.

Yanshou: Changshou County was established in 192 and changed to Yanshou County in 1929. The name of Yanshou is Mayan River, which means "elbow" in Manchu. The extension word of Yimayan River and the longevity word of Changshou Mountain here are merged into the county name to prolong life.

Tangyuan: County was established in 197, and the name of Tangyuan originated from Tangwang River in this area. Tangwang means "morning light" in Manchu. Because the Tangwang River basin is thousands of miles plain, it is called Tangyuan.

Harbin: It means "swan" in Manchu. It also means "basking in nets" in Manchu. There is another saying that its Manchu pronunciation is halfinn, which is literally translated as "flat river beach"

Jiamusi: published by giyamusi 1778 (forty-three years of Qianlong) < > In the world, it is called "Jiamu Temple Tun" in Manchu and Chinese characters. According to Manchu interpretation, Jiamusi is Yicheng and Kashan is the village, so Jiamusi is "Yicheng Village" or "Station Official Village". In 1888, there was no "Dongxing Town" by Yilan Banner, and Jiamusi was restored to this day because of the same name.

Qiqihar: formerly known as "bukui", which means wrestler. The transliteration of "Zhechen Gala" in Manchu means frontier.

Bayan was originally called Bayan Susu, which is called "rich village" in Manchu.
