Everyone has a distant place that they yearn for, and they will also set out to travel to places they like. In some places, we are attracted by the beautiful scenery, and in other places, we are attracted by the customs or local snacks. The city of Xiamen was attracted by its delicious food and made me fall in love with it. The first time I went to Xiamen, I just went to Da Bing's hut. After I went there, I realized that it was a paradise for food. You can eat whatever you want, and the key is that it's not expensive. Here are some must-eat delicacies:
1. Desserts and Beverages
Huang Zehe Peanut Soup: The peanut soup here tastes very good, with soft and waxy peanuts. The soup is light and slightly sweet, and one bowl is simply not enough. This store is on the left side of Zengcuo'an Archway. The store's signboard is very eye-catching and can be seen at a glance. It is very easy to find.
Ba Popo Shao Xiancao: I really recommend it. There are many stores in Xiamen, and each one is delicious. The key is that it is really cheap, and you won’t feel heartbroken after a few drinks. This restaurant's Shaoxiancao has a lot of ingredients, including honey beans, barley, peanuts, and sweet soup, which is different from other Shaoxiancao. The address is No. 139 Xili, Zengcuotun, Siming District, Xiamen City.
2. Snacks
Chenxi Shacha Noodles: You must eat a bowl of Shacha Noodles when you go to Xiamen, which is a special delicacy there. The reason why I recommend this Sha Cha Noodles is because the taste is authentic and the ingredients are sufficient, especially the abalone Sha Cha Noodles, which taste particularly good. Although there are not many people in this shop and it is in an alley, it is much more delicious than the "Authentic Shacha Noodles" with a big sign outside. The address is on the road from Zengcuo'an Archway to Lanhai Tingfeng International Youth Hostel. I don't know if it is still open now.
Oyster omelette: also called oyster omelette. It contains oysters, sweet potato powder, leeks and other ingredients. It is sweet but not spicy, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The taste is very sour and delicious. It is recommended to buy it at the snack street outside. I tried it once in the store and it tasted terrible. Last time I bought it at the snack street next to Congyu Bookstore, and I’m really craving it now just thinking about it.
I also like the bamboo shoot jelly, which contains soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, sweet sauce, chili sauce, mustard, minced garlic, jellyfish, etc.; it can also include coriander, white radish shreds, chili shreds, tomatoes It tastes a bit sour and spicy, and it tastes very refreshing, but some people may not be able to accept this taste.
In your past travels, what food made you fall in love with that city?
