The global "Creative City Network" was founded by UNESCO in 2004, and is committed to giving full play to the role of global creative industries in promoting economy and society. It is divided into the capital of literature, film, design, music, media art, folk art and cooking. Seven awards are selected once a year. Before Changsha was approved, a total of 1 16 cities in the world joined the "Creative City Network". Among them, eight cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Jingdezhen, Chengdu and Shunde, which are the "design capitals", joined.
20 14 April, Changsha Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to apply to join the Creative City Network with the goal of "Media and Art Capital". Due to the differences in international cognition and regional balance, Changsha declared defeat on 20 15. A defeat can't stop the pursuit of a city. 20 1 7165438+1October1under the guidance of China national Committee for UNESCO, Changsha resumed its bid for the capital. The other five cities competing with Changsha this time-Toronto, Canada, Guadalajara, Mexico, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, Braga, Portugal, and Kosice, Slovakia-are extremely competitive international cities, and they are all the first declared cities in their host countries. In the end, Changsha successfully declared itself as the first city in China to be awarded the title of "Media Art Capital" internationally.
Changsha's proposal to build a "media art capital" and promote it efficiently is not a whim, but has a deep foundation and strong strength. From the exquisite handicrafts in Mawangdui Han Tomb more than 2,000 years ago to the "Mango" brand TV program, Changsha in historical coordinates has never lacked the genes of cultural creativity. In recent years, TV programs such as Happy Camp, Everyday, and I am a singer have become industry benchmarks. Film and television dramas such as Yongzheng Dynasty and Defending Changsha are well-known at home and abroad, and international festivals such as Golden Eagle TV Art Festival, Orange Island Music Festival and International Sculpture Culture Art Festival are held regularly, setting up an "never-ending stage". Changsha has become one of the most representative cities of media art with cultural creativity in China. Behind excellent media art products is the rise of cultural and creative industries. Last year, there were 128 15 cultural and creative enterprises in Changsha, which created 6 1 10,000 jobs. The total output value of cultural industry is 25810.40 billion yuan, and the added value accounts for 8.7% of GDP.
At present, Changsha's media industry presents an obvious trend of large-scale and diversified development, forming a relatively complete media industry ecological group. Among them, new media, visual effects and digital media production represented by mobile Internet have become an important part of Changsha's media art industry. The combination of digital technology and traditional industries has hatched new creative industries such as digital fireworks, digital lighting and digital exhibitions, which together with digital media constitute the development matrix of Changsha media art.
