Fangcheng County is a county under the jurisdiction of Nanyang City, Henan Province, located in the southwest of Henan Province.
The gateway to the northeast of Nanyang Basin is adjacent to Nanyang City in the south and Pingdingshan City in the north. It is known as the North Gate of Nanyang.
Fangcheng, known as Yuzhou in ancient times, has a long history and rich cultural heritage.

Cheng, Wuyang and Ye counties were abolished in Fangcheng Prefecture during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the 2nd year of the Republic of China (1913), Yuzhou was abolished and Fangcheng County was restored.
