As a northerner who has stayed in Shenzhen for more than 10 years, let me tell you my true views on Suzhou! I moved from Shenzhen to Suzhou for development in 2013. I think Suzhou is a more humane city than Guangdong. I just got off the train in Suzhou for the first time. I was not familiar with the place, and my phone was out of battery and turned off. In order to contact my friends, I borrowed my mobile phone twice on the roadside, and others lent it to me without hesitation. This surprised and warmed my heart at first, because when you borrow a mobile phone from others on the streets of Shenzhen, most of them Will be considered a liar. The pace of life in Suzhou is not as fast as in Guangdong, and there are no particularly late night markets. To be honest, I was really not used to it when I first came here! Later, I gradually fell in love with this city. Suzhou is a city with rich history and cultural heritage. I like to walk around when I have nothing to do on weekends. Suzhou has many scenic spots and gardens, as well as many free attractions. But before going to any tourist attraction, you must do your homework so that you can appreciate the culture and historical allusions of the city. Otherwise, you will just go there to watch the excitement! If you want to eat, drink and have fun, go to Guanqian Street, it’s quite lively! If you want to see ancient towns, go to places like Shantang Street, Pingjiang Road, Tongli, Mudu, and Luzhi. Personally, I like to visit Shantang Street and Pingjiang Road, and I have to order a portion of the chicken feet from Pingjiang Road every time! After you are tired from shopping, it is very pleasant to have a cup of tea and listen to Pingtan music, even though I can’t understand it! The most famous attractions in Suzhou are Tiger Hill, Humble Administrator's Garden and Hanshan Temple. These three attractions require tickets. Tiger Hill is considered the No.1 scenic spot in Suzhou. The scenic spot is not very big, so you need to savor it carefully. There are many relics and allusions! Suzhou also has a lot of mountains. You can go hiking with a few friends on weekends. There are Qionglong Mountain, Shangfang Mountain, Lingyan Mountain, Tianping Mountain, Wangshan Mountain, Longchi Scenic Area, etc.! I usually like to climb Lingyan Mountain in Mudu. There is no entrance fee, the mountain is not high, and the scenery along the way is also good. Climbing to the top of the mountain to Lingyan Mountain Temple to eat a bowl of double mushroom vegetarian noodles has a unique flavor. If you want to eat barbecue, you can climb Qionglong Mountain! The first peak in Wuzhong has a barbecue garden. There are so many lakes in Suzhou. The government takes great care of each lake, and each lake has its own unique scenery! They are all very beautiful! The lakes in Suzhou include Jinji Lake, Yangcheng Lake, Taihu Lake, Shihu Lake, Qingjian Lake, Dushu Lake, Yinshan Lake and so on! My personal favorite is Stone Lake, especially in the afternoon when looking from the east side of the lake to the direction of Shangshan Mountain, the reflection of the mountain and lake is sparkling. When the sun sets, the tower of Shangfangshan Mountain is reflected in the lake. The scenery is so beautiful. revel! If you like history, you must go to the Suzhou Museum. There are many museums in Suzhou, including the Silk Museum, the City Wall Museum, and the Zhuangyuan Museum! The largest museum is right next to the Humble Administrator's Garden. It was designed by the famous designer Pei Jinming. It has a large collection of antiques and is divided into many areas. You can spend a day looking at it carefully! There are many temples in Suzhou, so I won’t introduce them one by one. The more famous one is undoubtedly Hanshan Temple. The first sequel of "Night Mooring at Maple Bridge" has been popular for more than a thousand years! Suzhou used to have eight city gates. Later, many of them were demolished during the era of the Four Old Ages. Most of the city gates that can still be seen today have been renovated! When it comes to this piece of food, Suzhou people are good at eating it, and they eat it exquisitely. There are countless types of pastries, desserts, and sweet porridge. Famous time-honored restaurants include Songhelou and Deyuelou, and their signature dish is squirrel mandarin fish. There are many noodle restaurants in Suzhou, and many of them are time-honored. Being used to northwest noodles and small noodles, I am not used to Su-style noodles, which are a bit sweet. The local people in Suzhou are also easy to get along with. The ones I met are basically very easy-going and typical Jiangnan style.
They are not as generous as the people in the north, nor are they like the people in the south who work hard to make money. They are content with being rich, not competitive, and will not deliberately trick you. They live their lives carefully! Generally speaking, Suzhou gives me a very gentle impression. Being in it will make you feel like you are bathing in the spring breeze!
