Heyang County Museum (Confucian Temple) is a cultural tourist attraction.
Heyang County Museum is located in the Confucian Temple of Heyang County. It was formally established in May 1989 after being separated from the Heyang County Cultural Center. It is a county-level museum integrating collection, protection, research, education, and archaeological investigation. It is affiliated to Heyang
County Cultural Bureau.
The Heyang Confucian Temple, where the museum is located, was founded in the eighth year of the Yuan Dynasty (1093) in the Northern Song Dynasty. It was a former temple and a later school, with a large scale. It is a group of ancient buildings from the Song and Ming Dynasties with high historical and artistic value.
The main buildings are Yucheng Hall, Minglun Hall, Zunjing Pavilion, as well as two rooms, two verandas, and two wings. It covers an area of ??6,750 square meters and a building area of ??2,173 square meters. It is the largest and largest group of ancient buildings in Heyang.
On April 20, 1992, it was announced as a provincial key cultural relics protection unit by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government.
Dacheng Hall was first built in the Daguan period of the Northern Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the second year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty. It has a single eaves on the top of the mountain and a simple and heavy style. It has obvious architectural styles and local characteristics of the early Ming Dynasty. It is an important physical document of the architectural art of the Ming Dynasty.
On the west side of the front hall is a replica of the "Stele of Cao Quan of the Heyang Order of the Han Dynasty", and on the east side is the "Stele of Reconstruction of the Academy" engraved in the 32nd year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty.
Zunjing Pavilion is located to the north of Dacheng Hall. It is a three-story pavilion-style wooden building built on a high platform. It was built in the early Wanli year of Ming Dynasty.
The cornices are soaring in the sky, making it look tall, majestic and majestic, which is rare among similar buildings in our province.
On the side of the front door of the pavilion, there are inscriptions such as "Monument to Lei Jianfu Recommending Sansu", which was erected in 1998.
Since its establishment, the collection of Heyang County Museum has been continuously enriched through various channels such as collection and donation. There are currently 784 pieces (groups) in the collection, including 7 pieces (groups) of national first-level cultural relics and second-level cultural relics.

The collection covers 11 categories including porcelain, pottery, stoneware, jade, metalware, calligraphy and painting, etc.
Among them are the Neolithic Age cultural relics represented by painted pottery pots, green stone shovels, and large cord-patterned pottery kettles; the Warring States cultural relics represented by Xia Yangbanggongding and duck-headed copper kettles; and the Han Dynasty cultural relics represented by Zhushu pottery basins and Boshan furnaces.

It enjoys a high reputation in the cultural and museum circles. In addition, a batch of 10,128 ancient books from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China is also a fine collection. It is a precious material for studying history and an important evidence of the historical and cultural process of Heyang.
On the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Heyang County Museum successfully held the "Heyang Cultural Relics Exhibition" in the Zunjing Pavilion of the Confucian Temple, which was well received by people from all walks of life and achieved good social benefits.
The exhibition room is currently being repaired and there is no display at the moment.
After the display and repairs are completed, it is planned to comprehensively display the historical evolution, customs, cultural relics and historic sites of Heyang County to the audience mainly through the exhibition of cultural relics in the museum collection and the introduction of existing relics on the ground.
