Guilin local food guide

Guilin has always been famous for its landscapes and scenic spots. In fact, Guilin’s food cannot be ignored.

Guilin rice noodles are very famous and delicious. Don’t miss it when you come to Guilin.

Local delicacies include beef babao, rice dumplings, rice rolls, etc. If you want to integrate into a city faster, you must first start with the food.

Guilin rice noodles. The real Guilin rice noodles must be mixed first. Soak the fresh rice noodles in hot water, put it into a bowl with Lishui water, add cut beef and cook it in a pot (fried fat meat residue, crispy and fragrant), add brine, and then cook it yourself.

Additional condiments on the condiment table: pickled beans, pickled bamboo shoots, green onions, fried soybeans, and chili sauce are standard, and some also have kelp and other ingredients.

After adding the ingredients, go to the vat next to add soup or not according to your preference.

You can choose rice noodles (cylindrical) or cut noodles (wide and flat), and they are sold in 2 liang or 3 liang.

Brine is the soul of rice noodles. Just like Beijing noodles with soy sauce, each family has its own taste.

Locals say that the most famous rice noodle shop is called Fulin Rice Noodle Shop. It was first opened on Cross Street in the city center. Now it has moved to near Jiefang Bridge. This shop is open very late at night and is the first choice for local friends for late night snacks.

, there are relatively few tourists, if you are interested, you can go and look for it.

Niubabao is like beef and sesame hotpot, dipped in special dipping sauces, and is very popular among locals.

Every time I come back, I make an appointment with a beef restaurant called Niu Dada. Buy 2 pounds of beef and get 1 pound for free. You can also get beef for free. The dipping sauce is spicy but very fragrant.

For vegetarian dishes, you must order taro, which is fried, and fried yuba.

Although Beijing is home to delicacies from all over the country, I have never seen something as local as Niubabao, so you must try it when you come to Guilin.

Zongzi There has been a long-standing dispute over Zongzi between the North and the South. Guilin Zongzi is naturally the southern salty type, usually with fresh meat, egg yolk, etc.

The difference from northern rice dumplings is, first, the shape, which is not a triangle but a flat pillow shape.

The second filling contains mung beans, which I think is the most novel. The fatty meat and oily mung beans relieve the greasiness, which is a perfect match.

When buying it at home, you don’t usually go to where to buy it, because there are stalls selling rice dumplings in wet markets and other places. If you buy it at home and haven’t finished it at the time, they usually fry it for the second meal to make it more fragrant. We often have leftover dumplings for the second meal.

Same as fried dumplings.

If you want to find an authentic store, it must be the Zongzi King near Guilin Middle School. The locals also call him Zongzi King. Anyway, there is a Zongzi King in Navigation. It also has vacuum packaging so tourists can take it home and give it away.

The price is 3.5 to 4.5 yuan each. For girls, I think one is about eighty percent full.

The rice rolls are very close to the Zongzi King just now, and a little closer to the intersection is called Haitian rice rolls. It is so popular that there is often no room to sit in the store.

Although rice rolls are a Cantonese delicacy, many of the delicacies of Guangdong and Guangdong are similar. If you love rice rolls, don’t miss this restaurant. It is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
