Methadone hydrochloride, referred to as methadone for short, has similar efficacy to morphine, has analgesic effect, and can produce respiratory depression, pupil contraction and sedation. Compared with morphine, it has the characteristics of longer action time, less tolerance and lower drug dependence. It is a narcotic analgesic synthesized in Germany during World War II to replace morphine. This medicine has the effects of detoxification and * * * dependence replacement maintenance treatment.
Drugs cause serious harm to individuals, families and society;
1, the harm of drugs to individuals. When drugs act on the human body, it will make the human body have adaptive changes under the action of drugs and form a new equilibrium state. Once the drug is stopped, the physiological function will be disordered and a series of serious reactions will appear, which is called withdrawal reaction and makes people feel very painful.
2. Harm to the family. Drug addicts destroy their own families at the same time, which makes them fall into the predicament of economic bankruptcy, separation of relatives and even family destruction;
3. Great damage to social productive forces. Drug addicts first cause physical diseases that affect production, and then cause great loss and waste of social wealth. At the same time, drug activities also cause environmental deterioration and reduce the living space of human beings.
Article 348 of the Criminal Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates as follows:
(a) illegal possession of more than one kilogram of opium, * * or more than fifty grams of methamphetamine, or other drugs in large quantities, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than seven years or life imprisonment, and shall also be fined;
(2) Whoever illegally holds opium of more than 200 grams but less than 1 kilogram, methamphetamine of more than 10 grams but less than 50 grams, or other drugs in relatively large quantities, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, criminal detention or public surveillance, and shall also be fined;
(3) If the circumstances are serious, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than seven years and shall also be fined. Interpretation of Several Issues Concerning the Application of Laws in the Trial of Drug Crimes Article 4 Smuggling, selling, transporting or manufacturing drugs shall be considered as a serious offence under any of the following circumstances:
(a) selling drugs to many people or repeatedly smuggling, selling, transporting or manufacturing drugs;
(2) selling drugs in drug rehabilitation centers or places of supervision;
(3) selling drugs to students at school;
(4) Organizing and using disabled people, seriously ill patients, pregnant women and lactating women to smuggle, sell, transport or manufacture drugs;
(5) State functionaries smuggle, sell, transport or manufacture drugs;
(6) Other serious circumstances.
