Of course i3 is better. Even the low-end i3 380 is much better than Q8700 and better than Q9300!

Q9300 is a Core 2 architecture, which is an order of magnitude worse than the Core i series. Just like the best Celeron CPU is not as good as the low-end Pentium CPU. Q9300 is just a rip-off now, and the price is too expensive. The i3 can rip off novices.
