The essence of steamed pork is chili. This chili looks like chili sauce, but it is not.
The buns are not particularly big. They are soft when pinched and have a little toughness after being torn open. They feel like a relatively hard cake, but there is still a lot of meat inside. They look a bit like burgers and have a salty and savory taste.
It’s completely different from the Hui Roujiamo in Xi’an. It’s rich in flavor and super satisfying!
2. Cuifeng Fufu Cuifeng Fufu is a snack in Zhouzhi, Shaanxi Province, with a history of more than 1,300 years.
During the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, a girl named Suo from Fufengsuo Village fled to Cuifeng Mountain because of her resistance to marriage, and lived a secluded life of self-reliance.
Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, went hunting to Cuifeng Mountain. His horse was frightened and lost his way, so he broke into Suogu's residence.
Suo girl treated her with her usual staple food, and Li Shimin was full of praises after eating. Tang Taizong was deeply moved by his thoughts, pardoned Suo Gu and named her "Quanzhen Empress", and issued an order to protect her land.
After Suogu's death, a temple was built to worship her. The temple fair was extended from the Tang Dynasty and has continued to flourish.
