"Nalati" means "sun" in Mongolian.

Legend has it that during Genghis Khan's Western Expedition, a Mongolian army marched from the depths of Tianshan Mountain to Yili. It's already spring, but the mountains are covered with snow, and hunger and cold make the army exhausted. I don't want to climb mountains and mountains, but I see a vast grassland full of flowers, with dense springs and flowing water, as if I had entered another world. At this time, the clouds opened and the sun rose, and the officers and men shouted "Nalati, Nalati", from which the place name came.

Nalati grassland is located in the hinterland of Tianshan Mountain and at the eastern end of Yili River Valley, and is known as the "South of the Great Wall".
