Quail (scientific name: Coturnix coturnix) is18cm long, small and round, with obvious grass-yellow spear stripes and irregular brown stripes. Both male and female upper bodies have red-brown and black stripes. The male's chin is dark brown, and the midline of his throat bends towards his ears and feathers, close to a yellow collar. The yellow eyebrow line of the skin is in obvious contrast with the brown head line and eyeliner. Female birds have similar patterns, but the contrast is not obvious. Usually appear in pairs rather than in groups. Often active in plains, wasteland, streams, slopes and hilly areas with dense weeds or bushes, and sometimes near cultivated land.
