On the first try 24 People laughed at me for fasting for an hour, saying that I would eat dinner from last Friday to Saturday night the next day, but in fact I didn’t eat two meals in between. Simple! It’s not difficult! I can do it too!
There are thousands of horses galloping past in my heart. Simple? Not difficult? you can also? Then why don't you try it? Of course, I didn't say this out loud, I just kept it in my heart. After all, I took the initiative to experience fasting on my own, so how much does it really have to do with others?
The first time I tried fasting for 24 hours, I didn’t feel any discomfort. However, I still resisted the temptation of some delicious food. Controlling temptation is really not easy to do, I know it firsthand. The aroma of delicious food does not float out, but goes directly into the nasal cavity. Especially when the hunger is strong, it is really difficult to resist temptation!
Having the experience of fasting for 24 hours for the first time, it is not a big problem to extend it for another 6 hours. I can truly experience three-meal fasting. It was a challenge for me because during the 30 hours of fasting, no food other than water was allowed. Carry out other activities normally, work when necessary, and exercise when necessary.
There is a view that this kind of fasting has no meaning. From a caloric perspective, seven days a week, six days of eating normally and one day of fasting. If you eat food for seven days in the six days before fasting, one day of fasting means no excess calories are consumed. It makes no sense for weight loss.
I don’t quite agree with this point of view. If everything is viewed from a positive and optimistic perspective, it will definitely be beneficial.
First of all, I think that the workload of the digestive system is reduced during fasting, and all the digestive systems get a rest for this reason. Rest is a kind of repair to the digestive system to some extent. Some people may say, isn’t there still sleep? Adults generally sleep no more than 8 hours a day. Therefore, I believe that fasting for 24 hours or 30 hours will give the digestive system a longer time to repair and cleanse the body of residues and toxins more thoroughly.
Second, fasting for 24 hours or more. Long-term fasting must burn fat. Persistence will be of great help in maintaining body shape. Excess food intake will be converted into fat and stored. Fat not only protects against cold. It also serves the purpose of providing energy to the body when it is not eating. This is the body's instinct.
Third, stimulate thinking during the fasting experience. I think it helps the brain too. Fasting to experience fasting, I would exercise and think at the same time. Why do we need to eat? How much impact does diet have on our bodies? My body is composed of various organs, but where does our consciousness exist? This is the second time you have experienced the thinking brought about by fasting. Although you did not get the answer you wanted, at least you are thinking.
Talk about this experience of fasting for 30 hours. I found that extending the time by six hours did not add many insurmountable difficulties.
Hunger is most intense during the eighth hour after fasting. This point is a hunger pole. Similar to a pole in running. People who have experienced extreme points in running will have this feeling. When they reach the extreme point, they can no longer run. Their feet are like wearing a pair of iron shoes, and their heavy legs feel like they can't move even if they want to.
As long as you survive the extreme hunger, the rest of the time will be much easier. How do I deal with extreme hunger? Just try not to think about the food you are eating. The more you think about it, the hungrier you will feel. So, I kept drinking plain water to make me feel fuller.
A jog was performed at the ninth hour and another at the twenty-sixth hour after fasting. Jogging lasts about an hour each time. My body feels light while jogging, but not that floating lightness. There was no other discomfort. All in all, in good condition. After jogging, my mouth feels dry and I can only overcome it by drinking more water.
After experiencing a 30-hour fast, I discovered that our bodies do not need to eat every day. All body systems can still function normally and there is no discomfort. We don’t need to worry about the adverse effects of fasting for 24 hours or 30 hours on the body.
On the contrary, we need to reflect on why our bodies need to consume more food every day?
