As a person who has worked in Weihai for 2 years, I often go out on weekends. I can say that I have visited Weihai and surrounding places all over. When visiting Weihai, I have two treasures to recommend: Liugong Island and International Bathing Beach Liugong Island.

Liugong Island is located in Weihai Bay at the eastern end of the Shandong Peninsula. It has rich and unique cultural landscapes, including Warring States ruins dating back thousands of years, the beautiful legends of Liu Gong and Liu Mu from the Han Dynasty, as well as the Beiyang Naval Admiral's Office, Naval Academy, and ancient forts of the Qing Dynasty.

There are war relics and many European-style buildings left over from the British colonial period. It is known as the "Eastern Ping Phan Domain" and the "Unsinkable Battleship".

The sea cliffs in the north are upright and steep, while the south is gentle and rolling, with a forest coverage rate of 87%. It is known as the "Fairy Mountain on the Sea" and the "Utopia".

2. Ropeway station.

The ropeway adopts a single-line circulating fixed rope-holding double-person gondola design. The total length of the line is 708 meters, the running speed is 60 meters per minute, and the transport capacity is 300 people per hour. There are 9 brackets and 60 gondolas at the highest point of the line.

By taking the cableway up the mountain, you can enter Liugong Island National Forest Park for free.

3. Tour bus.

You can take an open tour bus to visit the main roads of the scenic spot, Ding Highway and Deng Highway. The main places along the way are: Tourist Terminal - Navy Square - Cultural Square - Liugong Island Expo Park - Cableway Station - Liugong Island East Village - National Forest Park -

4. Bus.

Take buses K1, K2, K3, 1, 12, 52, 53, 101, etc. and get off at Beizhudao Station and walk east for one kilometer to get there; Liugong Island’s food is famous for cooking seafood, especially seafood,

But there are still charges for other recreational activities here, such as pergola, motorboats, yachts, etc.

Transportation: Visitors by boat: Take the boat to Weihai Pier and disembark, then take bus No. 7 (or No. 85) to reach the scenic spot.

Visitors by train: After taking the train and getting off at Weihai Station, walk for five minutes to the bus stop on the north side of the train station entrance. Take bus No. 12 directly to the Torch Building.

Main tourist items: Hai International Bathing Beach, Liugong Island and Chengshantou are also known as the three major scenic spots in Weihai. It is a natural bathing beach. The sand here is soft and clean, the sea water is clear, and the slope of the seaside is gentle, which is very suitable for swimming.
