Zhenfeng County, where Shuangrufeng Scenic Area is located, is the place where the Buyi people live most in my country. Not only does it have local specialty snacks, but there are also many local ethnic snacks. I would like to recommend a few to the author:
The first thing is Zhenfeng Zongzi. After peeling it off, it is oily green glutinous rice, stuffed with brown and red chestnuts and meat-colored pork ribs.
The glutinous rice balls at Zoujia Shop in Xingyi, Guizhou are also well received by tourists from inside and outside the province. They are filled with chicken, filled with chicken soup and served with peanut butter. Sweet, but I am salty and fresh.”
When it comes to delicious food, we have to mention Xingyi’s brush handles, which are purely handmade and use flour, bamboo shoots, lean meat, and eggs as the main ingredients. The cooked "brush head" is slightly larger than the thumb, and is light buttery and appetizing. Use chicken soup, pepper noodles soaked in oil, soy sauce, chopped green onion, MSG, etc. and mix it into dipping water. It is so delicious that I really want to eat it after eating it. The aftertaste is so tongue-twisting that I won't leave it for three days.
Zhenfeng’s local glutinous rice is also a must-have. It was a famous snack as early as the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. Zhenfeng's glutinous rice is fragrant and meaty, oily but not greasy, has beautiful colors, and is rich and refreshing. It can be called a unique traditional food. The main raw material is high-quality glutinous rice. When making it, soak the glutinous rice thoroughly in cold water, simmer and steam it twice, fry it with cooked lard, put it in an iron pot, and keep it warm for later use. Select lean meat, marinate it with special spices for a few days, and fry it until it's semi-dry. When serving, cut the meat into thin slices and cover it with glutinous rice. Oily but not greasy, beautiful in color, rich and refreshing in taste, it can be called a unique traditional delicacy. There are 8 restaurants in Zhenfeng County, and there are an average of 4 to 5 restaurants in each of the 8 counties in Qianxinan Prefecture, making it a well-known delicacy. The more famous one is the "Fujia Specialty Oily Glutinous Rice" restaurant.
Of course, the Tujia cuisine of the Buyi people is also very good and is well-known among tourists. In addition, the three-star and four-star hotels in Shuangrufeng Scenic Area are also equipped with large Chinese restaurants and Western restaurants to ensure that the host will have a good meal.
