How to store fresh shrimp in the refrigerator

Method 1: Fresh-keeping bag

Cut off the thorns on the shrimp whiskers and heads (so as not to puncture the bag and lose its freshness), straighten it and put it into the fresh-keeping bag. After filling the bag, put 3 more similar fresh-keeping bags on the outside of the bag, seal it with transparent tape, and put it directly in the refrigerator. Then turn the refrigerator to the highest setting for 8 to 10 hours, so that it freezes well and stays fresh. When eating, take out a bag and soak it in water.

However, this method can easily break the fresh-keeping bag, and after all, it cannot completely guarantee that the beards will be cut and pricked thoroughly. Besides, even if you cut it thoroughly, the shrimp body can easily break through the fresh-keeping bag. After the fresh-keeping bag is broken, the shrimp will no longer be fresh, will become dry, and will easily lose odor, and the taste will become sour over time.

Method 2: Plastic bottles

Put fresh shrimps in empty beverage bottles one by one until the shrimps are full, but do not fill them too full. Fill the bottle with water, tighten the cap, and place it in the refrigerator.

In this way, the shrimp is completely isolated from the air, and the shrimp meat is as fresh as the new one, and will not become dry or smell. Before eating, take out the required bottle and soak it in cold water to defrost it. Use a knife or scissors to break the bottle open. Generally, one bottle can be used to make one plate, which is very convenient.

Method 3: Fresh-keeping box

Cut off the shrimp tentacles and shrimp gun and place them neatly in the fresh-keeping box. No need to put water in. Just close the lid and make sure there are no gaps. Just place it directly. Place in the refrigerator to freeze quickly. When eating, I took a larger fruit knife and pried it off gently, and it was still intact. Such shrimps have the same fleshy texture as freshly bought shrimps, and can be stored for when fresh shrimps are available next year.

But the disadvantage is that the size of the crisper box is not necessarily suitable. Sometimes there are many shrimps in a small box, and sometimes there are few big shrimps in the box. You have to defrost everything before eating. If you can’t eat it at once, you have to refreeze it. Moreover, after freezing again, the freshness and taste will be much worse. The more times you toss it, the worse it will be.

Method 4: Blanch first

First blanch the shrimps in water, then fish them out, drain the water, and then put them in fresh-keeping bags. Place in the refrigerator to freeze.
