Pengpai Middle School has a long history. Its predecessor was Haifeng County Middle School founded in 1913. At the beginning of liberation, it was renamed Haifeng County No. 1 Middle School.

The school was completed on November 21, 1957. Gu Dacun, the former Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, came to the school to cut the ribbon.

Officially named Peng Pai Memorial Middle School, referred to as Peng Pai Middle School.
