Chocolate originated in Mexico, where cacao trees with deep roots and rich fruits grow. Prior to this, the earliest archaeological evidence of chocolate consumption was found in 4 AD. American researchers reported in the British "Nature" magazine published on the 18th that they found the unique chemical composition characteristics of cocoa beans, the raw material for making chocolate, in pottery bottles by using new analytical techniques. Ancient Indians ground cocoa fruit into powder, mixed it with corn flour and Chili powder, and made a slightly bitter batter into daily food. By the 14th century, Mexicans added sugar, vanilla and other spices to cocoa powder to make a sweet and delicious hard candy, which was the embryonic form of chocolate.
