Dorgon in the history of the Qing Dynasty can be called a magical man. After all, he has never been an emperor. However, it is recorded in "Manuscripts of Qing History? Anthropology of the Ancestors": In Jiachen, the regent respected the late regent for his great achievements in cultivating virtues, making contributions to peace, and establishing government.
Sincerely respect the emperor, and the temple name is Cheng Zong.
That is to say, after Dorgon's death, he was posthumously named "Qing Chengzong" by Emperor Shunzhi. Why is this?
?In my opinion, the reason why Dorgon can be given a temple title that only the emperor can have is because he made great contributions to the establishment and even stability of the Qing Dynasty.
"The most important thing is to establish the foundation of a country and achieve unification." This was the evaluation of Emperor Qianlong in the prosperous period of the Qing Dynasty when he rehabilitated Dorgon.
1. Regarding what Qianlong said about "establishing the country and establishing the foundation", Dorgon was only one step away from the throne at that time, but gave it up and became the regent to assist the government.
In the eighth year of Chongde (the sixteenth year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty, 1643), on the ninth day of the eighth lunar month, Huang Taiji, Emperor Taizong of the Qing Dynasty, died suddenly in Qingning Palace in Shengjing.
After Huang Taiji's death, the struggle for the throne was divided into two factions: one faction was Huang Taiji's younger brother, Prince Rui Dorgon, who had great military exploits and high prestige; the other faction was Huang Taiji's eldest son, Hauge, who had less military exploits.
When the two sides were at loggerheads, Dorgon wisely took a step back.
At that time, Dorgon took the initiative to propose Huang Taiji's six-year-old son Fulin as emperor.
Dorgon's plan prevented the newly established Qing Dynasty from falling apart and laid the foundation for the Qing Dynasty to move into the Central Plains.
A year later, Dorgon commanded the Qing army to enter the Pass, prompting the Qing Dynasty to replace the Ming Dynasty and successfully occupy the Central Plains.
?2. Regarding what Qianlong said about the "unification", Dorgon swept through several other separatist regimes at the time and completed the Qing Dynasty's effective control over the entire country.
After entering the Pass, the Qing Dynasty, under the actual rule of Dorgon, successively destroyed three regimes: Li Zicheng of Dashun, Zhang Xianzhong of Daxi, and Hongguang, Longwu, and Shaowu of Nanming.
After Emperor Shunzhi came into power for eight years, the Qing Dynasty only had the Yongli regime of the Southern Ming Dynasty as its rival throughout the country. The Yongli regime had even lost the danger of the Yangtze River and had no basis for ruling by dividing the river.
, it can be said that Dorgon's series of actions have completely established the unified pattern of the Qing Dynasty. From this point of view, Dorgon deserves to be posthumously named emperor.
3. After Dorgon's sudden death, Emperor Shunzhi took charge and posthumously named him "Qing Chengzong". In fact, it was just a temporary measure to stabilize Dorgon's other party members.
When Dorgon died, Emperor Shunzhi took a series of liquidation measures, personally ordering Dorgon to be demoted, removed from the temple, dismissed from the clan, and moved his property into the palace, and buried Dorgon for only two months.
Graves were dug up, bones were smashed and ashes were scattered, and all his followers were eliminated.
In this way, Dorgon, who had only served as Emperor Cheng Zongyi for two months, was not only deposed from his temple title, but also deprived of his clan status.
It was not until more than a hundred years later, in the forty-third year of Qianlong (1778), that Emperor Qianlong vindicated Dorgon, restored his clan status, and his family lineage title of Prince He Shuorui, and his former Chengzong
The temple name and posthumous title of Emperor Yi have also been completely sealed in history.
Best to give an example
